Eleven years ago I told my husband that I was pregnant with our third child. “Wow,” he said. “We’re going to need a bigger car.”

I've been quiet on Twitter for some time now, and I'm getting ready to leave for good. If you are still using this platform, please consider coming over to Bluesky. I'll miss you if you don't.

Not only are the Spa and Science Centre going to cost taxpayers almost $3 billion, but they're also going to make traffic 25% WORSE. Merry Christmas from Doug Ford!
Doug Ford is going to make traffic worse! “Based on the city’s traffic analysis of the impact of the MegaSpa and the new OSC, traffic will increase on Lakeshore by 27% in the AM, 23% in the PM, 25% on a typical Saturday peak” thestar.com/news/gta/doug-fo… #topoli #onpoli

This isn’t helpful. If you’re sleeping outside, hypothermia’s possible even when the temp is above 0°C. I was told tonight that at least there’s room at the Better Living Centre and those already at the warming centres were allowed to remain. If you see someone in need, call 311.
#CityOfTO Warming Centres are now closed. Staff are working to refer individuals who remain onsite to alternate spaces in the shelter system. For drop-in programs, 24-hour respite sites and other services, visit toronto.ca/homelesshelp or call Central Intake at 416-338-4766.

I have raised this as a point to car commuters in the past. Do you really want 2000 extra cars per day joining you on Lakeshore Blvd? A line of cars 20 km long.

I took a bike ride 12 KM across Toronto. It takes me 24 minutes @ 30km/h. This city isn't broken, it's just that @brianlilley is shouldn't be so car-dependent. YOU are the traffic Brian. Toronto has about 5,600 km of streets with 270.9 km of bike infrastructure or 4.82%
I just drove 12 KM across Toronto. It took me 51 minutes. This city is broken.

All the grandfathered-in retail in our community is well loved. It's a shame it can't continue. There are ghosts of past residential-zoned retail all around us. The access to local amenities is what makes living in a city desirable! thestar.com/news/gta/i-am-so…

Patios can only be on main streets. New housing can only be on main streets. Bike lanes can't be on main streets. Young person - enjoy your dinner right next to unfettered vehicle traffic and fumes, make your way back to your apartment to enjoy in the noise and fumes at night.

Bloor St W. #BikeTO enforcement.. This was a few days ago. Not only blocking a bike lane forcing cyclist into traffic, but inconveniencing other drivers trying to exit a driveway and have to navigate around the van. $200 ticket served.
