Canalside Residents' Association represents the interests of people living on Whitmore Estate, Haggerston East Estate & Bryant Court in Hoxton & Haggerston.
Very sorry to see that Terry Downey, Chair of @Canalside_RA, has recently passed away. He was a great advocate for residents of the Whitmore Estate, and was passionate about his neighbourhood and about Hackney. RIP and my thoughts are with his family.

Pleased to see a 4th rapid test site has opened in Hackney, this time in Hoxton/Shoreditch at Geffrye Community Hall.
This means there are now 4 Council sites now open across the borough to support those who need to leave home to work, volunteer or have caring responsibilities👇
If you have to leave home to do your job, it is really important that you get tested for COVID-19 at least once a week, even if you feel well.
Rapid tests provide results on the same day & are free of charge at your local rapid testing site.

In 40 years the proportion of the UK population living in council housing has dropped from 42% to 8%
We need to demand more of our politicians who too often settle for a developer building a few council homes in a huge development of private flats.
These new green spaces on the Aylesbury estate were supposed to be publically accessible according to the S106 agreement - now they've been gated and are accessible only to residents in this block. #aylesburyestate#notregeneration

Help us to change that by donating spare or unwanted laptops to support children to learn at home.

Can you help us raise £35,000 in a week? If everyone that’s ever spent a moment in our free community garden, over the last 10 yrs, donates a little, we can reopen, so even more people can enjoy a safe natural haven in the middle of this busy city.
