Okay, defenses of my state (though I share Nate’s frustration, esp w/my home county of Alameda):
1. The delayed count is in service of maximizing turnout and access.
2. LA County is bigger than 40 states, but, well, a county.
3. We’ll likely know result by EOW. That isn’t crazy.
The fact that California elections often can't be resolved for weeks is kind of insane and not common in other electoral systems around the world.
