His name is John Mendoza Jr. He was an eighteen-year-old freshman at Texas State University, described by those who knew him as a โrespectful young man who never gave anybody any problems.โ
John was killed by Brazoria County Sheriffโs Deputy Kevin Tippit on June 1st.
The story started with Mendoza coming home from Texas State University for the summer. He was driving with friends when Tippit attempted to pull him over in Lake Jackson. Surveillance video captured the short pursuit after deputies said Mendoza didn't stop.
It ended in John's parents' garage when Tippit shot him inside his car; Mendoza was unarmed. His grieving family came together with the community to demand the truth. We will continue to support the Mendoza family until they receive justice, transparency, and answers.

And they shot Jameson dead. In front of his owner. In front of her child.
No warning. No de-escalation. Nothing.
The media is barely covering this. No headlines. No outrage.
Like it never happened.
If this was your dog... your child watching... how would you feel?
Jameson deserved better. That little boy deserved better. His mama deserved better.
