Seems @GovJersey is happy to make it even more costly to spend time in town and force more consumers to shop online. Bit of an own goal and certainly a move in the wrong direction. We should be embracing the town centre…while we still have one.

Jersey premium strikes again? We’re pushing for transparency from banks to see why mortgage rates are at least 1% higher for islanders compared to UK. Lenders claim to be separate entities but use UK interest rates as starting point. The cost is £10,000s over 30 year mortgage.

Adv Philip Sinel: “There has been a clear breach of contract” @SinelsLaw has kindly agreed to act for @JerseyConsumer and the 250 unhappy @Islandenergy_ customers who have so far registered with us to recover the costs they incurred during October’s outage.

Adv Sinel: “Sinels is happy to act on behalf of consumers affected by [the] gas outage as, in our view, there has been a clear breach of contract. Losses have occurred, and as a result, the supplier should be liable for those…we will do our best to recover those for consumers.”
