Last week, we convened the inaugural cohort of the
#Politics &
#Diplomacy for Health fellowship program for an in-person Masterclass in Sigtuna đžđȘ, co-hosted by
@handels_sse &
@karolinskainst!
đ„ It was such a pleasure to finally meet my fellow fellows from all over the world, representing public sector & private sectors, international organisations, philanthropy, academia and civil society organisations!
đ Huge thanks to our incredible resource persons for being so generous with their time and sharing their experiences/perspectives on topics ranging from geopolitics of regional & global health and the political economy, to lessons learned from HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, Ebola, & the COVID-19 Pandemic, to remaining neutral & impartial in highly polarised environments, among many others.
We also dove deep into the 7ïžâŁ key themes of the program:
1. Transformative
#leadership and how to identify and maximize/ seize windows of opportunity
2. Fostering
#trust, building networks, and nurturing relationships
3. Effective
#communication strategies - why do style, language, and timing matter?
4. Dynamics of formal and informal
#decisionmaking - where and by whom are real decisions taken?
5. Lessons from
#entrepreneurship and the
#privatesector
6. Managing uncertainty, embracing failure, being courageous, and understanding oneself and one's adversaries
7. Passion and clear personal values for successful leadership
đ€ Itâs been a real pleasure working with the âInternational Politics, Leadership &
#DiplomacyforHealthâ project team (@NordstrmAnders,
@CarlssonSwe,
@KarlWennberg1, Tobias Alfvén, Carita Rehn, Paul Rosenbaum & Sofia Fransson) to put this together and see it all come to fruition.
Looking forward to the final 2 online workshops of the program and to continue collectively shaping the establishment of a community of practice for
#GlobalHealthDiplomacy in the months to come.
