Honestly insane that 4 (maybe more?) games shut down for financial reasons recently.
Mostly I see complains about infra bills being too high while game is profitable? Your game is not profitable if you can't cover infra bills.
As someone who did pay very high bills for infra until last year, I understand but also not. How do teams not see their runway decreasing and not try to optimise?
Spellborne's monthly server costs, subscription costs, api costs do not exceed $300 (used to be $3500 p.m. last year).
Its not THAT hard to stay lean and optimise if you aren't doing stupid stuff, plus considering recent AI improvements, this isn't too difficult anymore.
