Similar to our findings on stop and search, we found that Black people are also much more likely to have force used against them, including being handcuffed, tasered, or having a baton used against them.
ALT Our analysis found that between 2020 and 2022, people in London who appear to officers as Black (aged 11-61) were:
- Over 3 times more likely to be handcuffed than White appearing people of the same age.
- Nearly 4 times as likely to have a Taser fired on them by a Met officer.
-4.5 times more likely to have a baton used against them.
