Anyone else the Pomeg glitches are like the Pokemon equivalent of Gaster in-universe once someone finds out?
Like there's hints something larger is at play, but unless you do something hyper specific or get EXTREMELY lucky, nobody's gonna believe ya.
biggest glitches in pokemon history.
back in 2005, pokemon emerald introduced the pomeg berry. it was designed to lower a pokemon’s hp effort values by 10 points for competitive players. but the developers made a tiny math error that completely broke the game.
if you fed this berry to a pokemon with only one hp left, the calculation underflowed and rolled the health counter all the way up to 65,535 displayed as ?35 on the health bar. this created an almost invincible pokemon with massive hp.
the glitch let players enter battles with a fainted party, sometimes even with just an egg. this confused the game’s memory so badly that you could scroll past the sixth party slot, a technique known as glitzer popping. this opened the door to much more powerful glitches.
the true power of the pomeg glitch was that it eventually led to arbitrary code execution. by carefully arranging box names and using specific glitch setups, players could execute their own code inside the game, allowing them to spawn any pokemon they wanted, including mythicals like mew and deoxys, or even warp straight to the credits.
to this day, the pomeg glitch remains one of the most powerful and complex glitches in the entire pokemon series.
