There is no greater example of what a disaster this is than the private care home market which is being bought up wholesale by private investment firms who don’t really give a toss about old people or care or the people who work for them.
We’re told we can’t afford doctors. But we can afford £1.6 BILLION in profits for private companies. These are deliberate choices to move NHS money into private hands, not frontline care. The government's privatisation of the NHS isn't so secret anymore.

Re Jordanhill Park, I would welcome any advice on what I can do to get @CALAHOMES to respond to my letters and emails. On 22 December last year they thanked me for my patience and said they’d get back to me with a start date for remedial works. I’m still waiting.

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV on Trump’s warning to Iran of “civilization” destruction — “This is truly not acceptable. Here there are certainly questions of international law, but even more than this a question of morality for the good of people.” He adds the war is “continuing to escalate and is not resolving anything… is only provoking more hatred throughout the world.” “attacks on civilian infrastructure are against international law, but it is also against sign of the hatred and division that we are capable of.” Video @Reuters

Brilliant letter in @heraldscotland today raises a debate about NHS doctors in private practice I feel is long overdue. Here’s a wee snippet.

This makes sense to me. It’s time for @Keir_Starmer and @RachelReevesMP to act.
📽️ From Donald Trump to Britain's wind power trade body, there's a growing coalition calling for more drilling in the North Sea. Raising the question: if we DID encourage more exploration, how much oil & gas could we actually get? Our MEGA primer on the North Sea👇 Ps it's longer than usual, but it turns out this topic has SO MANY misconceptions. Time to put some of them right. Let me know what you think

Hard to believe some of the most consequential legislation is being debated in our 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 parliament with barely any time for meaningful analysis nor reporting from our national broadcaster. Surely the Assisted Dying bill deserves more attention &reflection than just on this platform

A huge thank to everyone who helped us ensure people’s closest relatives are not simply visitors to care homes but an essential part of their care. #notjustavisitor

This sounds good but I’m concerned that the company that runs the aluminium smelter (Alvance) who are part of this group (same trading address) haven’t filed accounts since 2021? And the March 21 accounts were unaudited. But they have stewardship of so much land. @parkswatchscot
