Opinion by Ray Marciano Stench from Trump's Cleveland raid turning stomachs miles away. The DOJ and its Trumpian puppets don’t do themselves any favors when they essentially tell people the justification for the raid is no one’s business, at least not yet. dispatch.com/story/opinion/c…

A tidbit from some records I got last month: When DHS requested voter info from the Franklin County BOE earlier this year, an agent asked about OOC and other third-party groups that register voters.
"It was a full onslaught," @OHorganizing board member said of FBI raid at Cleveland office, questioning members across the state. dispatch.com/story/news/poli…

With industry groups saying the bill goes too far and residents saying it doesn’t go far enough, the question hanging over Wednesday’s vote is whether this is real reform, a heavy-handed mistake, or Ohio closing the barn door after the horses escaped. cleveland.com/news/2026/06/n…

The fight in Tennessee is bigger than one map. Across the country, we're seeing a coordinated push to weaken Black voting power and redraw the lines of our democracy. We just joined the NAACP Tennessee State Conference, impacted voters, and co-counsels the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and LDF to file a motion to block Tennessee's newly enacted congressional map, which dismantles the state's only majority-Black district. We're asking the court to act now, before the 2026 elections, because the harm here cannot be undone. Once ballots are cast under an unfair map, Black voters can lose representation that no ruling can give back. "Make no mistake, what we are seeing in Tennessee and across the South is an undeniable effort to strip Black voters of their power and their voice." —@KristenClarkeJD, NAACP General Counsel naacp.org/articles/naacp-fil…

Among other things, HB 251, a drone regulation bill, 1) Gives the GOVT a blank check to surveil all of us, all the time, without a warrant, if we are outside/in car, 2) Makes it a crime for YOU (incl. news media) to view someone else - even whole crowds - w/o their permission.
🚨House Bill 251 provides police with a blank check to surveil, with drones, any and all of our travels, activities, and destinations without a warrant. We urge Ohio Senators to reject this bill and protect the privacy of Ohioans by voting NO. ❌❌ Take Action ➡️ ow.ly/33Sj50Z8R9m

For the last 1.5 years, the Ohio House Medicaid Committee has been working to protect the taxpayer while serving our most vulnerable citizens. As a member of this committee, I can attest that especially over the past few weeks, both sides of the aisle have been working together to honestly find policies to eliminate fraud, waste, & abuse. Last week, Speaker Huffman added three members of leadership to the Medicaid Committee. These three have taken over the process from the chair, and yesterday they presented a 177-page substitute bill that had been released just a few hours before committee began. This was an ambush! Turns out, the details of this sub bill has provisions in it that totally blow up Medicaid in Ohio and will have the exact opposite effect of what we have been working towards. Last General Assembly we had a rule that required all amendments and sub bills to be available by midnight the day before adopted (The Cinderella Rule). This rule gave some time for amendments to be read; however, this rule was eliminated in this GA. The result has been that time and time again, members have been forced to take votes before seeing the bill, and then only later getting the details. Yesterday, leadership hid the ball again, and in doing so, left the original members of the committee who weren’t part of crafting the sub bill holding the bag. This is the latest example of the style of leadership the Ohio House is under.—do what we say or else. Believe me, I know firsthand! And most unfortunately, this trick yesterday probably wasted an opportunity to truly protect the taxpayer. We were on a path to make major and positive reforms to Medicaid in Ohio to weed out Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; however, now with this sub bill and the way it was handled, how can we trust what we are being told by leadership? Simply put, we cannot. Oh, and to be clear, I’m a “No” on this SubBill.
