Totally agree
maybe it’s not for you, and that’s fine but the immediate and endless complaining about a MV because it didn’t fit into what YOU envisioned in YOUR mind is dumb. let’s respect the artist and HER vision, and appreciate the tribute she’s paying to an iconic woman. also, if you look past the surface level it’s very telling of taylor’s feelings and purpose behind the song based on the clips that were used in different parts … plus this feeds money back to ET’s estate, which is another great way to show respect ✨💍

Yesterday, at the peak of Christmas day, Texas got about 55% of its power from wind and solar. At the lowest demand of the day, it got about 50% of its power from wind. At one point, about 10% was provided by batteries.

The Trump administration says it plans to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, which is the nation’s premier atmospheric science center. In his announcement of the closing, OMB Director Russell Vought called the center “one of the largest sources of climate alarmism in the country.” NCAR, as the center is known, was founded in 1960 and has facilitated generations of breakthroughs in climate and weather science. The announcement has drawn outcry from meteorologists and climate scientists across the country. William Brangham recently spoke with Brown University’s Kim Cobb and meteorologist @MatthewCappucci.

Magaziner: Madam secretary, you promised America that you would go after the worst of the worst. But these people are not the worst of the worst. A purple heart recipient, a military spouse, the father of three Marines. And it's not just veterans and military families. You are locking up and deporting children with cancer, mothers with babies in the NICU, United States citizens, you do. There are many problems with your leadership, but the biggest problem is this you don't seem to know how to tell the difference between the good guys and the bad guys.

Pete Hegseth says he’s going to court-martial me for saying the same exact thing he said 9 years ago. What changed for Pete? Well to start, he spends all day thinking about how he can suck up to Trump. When Trump says jump, he says how high.

The Guardian laid out what a lot of us already knew deep down. Donald Trump did not just fail coal country, he ripped the future right out of our hands. While he was on stage promising to bring back coal, his administration was quietly dismantling the only real investment our region had seen in decades. They froze grants that were already awarded, shut down community redevelopment projects mid stride, and killed solar jobs and training programs that were just beginning to take root. I saw the impact of those cuts up close, out on the road, in our towns, with our people. At that time I was employed by a couple nonprofit organizations that were fighting every single day to bring renewable energy into West Virginia and make sure our communities were not left behind. I spent months traveling to fifty plus towns across southern West Virginia. I sat in community halls, stood before city councils, walked into mayors offices, and listened to families who have been ignored for generations. What I saw was not desperation, it was preparation. Some towns had more than seventy renewable energy projects planned and ready to go, just waiting for funding. Towns were asking for grant writers on the spot because they did not want to miss a single opportunity. They wanted to remove dangerous old buildings, build new parks, cut their electric bills with solar, and finally have a real chance at revitalizing their communities. And you know what? For the first time in my lifetime, people in these communities actually felt hopeful. They believed we finally had a shot, not a handout, not a political slogan, but a future built with our own hands. Then Trumps people came in and tore it all down. Grants were rescinded. Projects were frozen. Solar companies collapsed. Towns that were ready to rebuild were told to go back to waiting their turn, a turn that never comes. That is the betrayal the Guardian exposed. That is the knife in the back Donald Trump gave West Virginia for its loyalty. theguardian.com/environment/…

And as far as “ healthcare is a right “. Once we have an efficient market - we don’t today, because just a few insurance carriers dominate and define the economics of healthcare , and we make it transparent, for anything and everything, then we will be in a position where there is true competition for our healthcare dollars. To be clear, we won’t get from here to there without DOJ/FTC and legislative participation. If you remove any and all government intervention , the big carriers will go from being multi-hundred billion dollar companies , to multi trillion dollar revenue companies. They will buy every innovative company, more providers , more PBMs , and the cost of care in this country will continue to inflate far beyond its current $5b cost. And for the universal healthcare advocates, with an efficient , transparent market , we have a Canadian like path. If a state looks at all the claims in its state and thinks it can extrapolate that data and determine it’s in the best interest of its constituents to cover the costs of that care , and those constituents agree, then we can start with states , like Canada did with a single province and see where it takes us
"Underpay" I know you are not this ignorant, @mcuban. The US OVERPAYS at every level in healthcare, which is a key reason we overtreat, which is a key reason our outcomes stink. We do NOT need to spend more money on medicine in the US, we would be better off spending less.
