Looks like this will be the first time that the NCAA men's hockey championship trophy and the Stanley Cup will be presented in the same building in the same season. Memorable goaltending performances in both clinchers.

Feel bad for @SCSUHuskies_MH Nic Dowd. So close to getting his name on the Cup. At 36 how many more opportunities will he have. He had a tremendous playoff. Something to be proud of.

Here is my math
5 new NAHL teams ( 4 moving from NCDC )
17 new NCDC teams therefore 13 new teams if you remove the teams moving to NAHL
6 - 8 new USHL teams in 2027 - 2028
So between this year and next potentially 25 new teams at say 23 per players team. That is 575 new players coming from a lower level league and or Europe.

UCF Football Coach Scott Frost spoke about the chaotic trajectory of the sport and the need for outside intervention last year. It seems even more relevant today:
"It's a sad state if a sport as beautiful as College Football is won by the people with the richest boosters"
