I have this medal having run the half on Saturday and yes, there is a mispelling.
MARATHON MEDAL MISSPELLING: A spokesperson for the Journal Sentinel Milwaukee Marathon said all of the medals given to marathon runners on April 11 had a misspelling.
You can see βmarthonβ was spelled without a second βaβ on the back of the medals.
βA letter clearly went missing somewhere between the start and the finish line of production, making these medals unintended collectorβs editions,β a spokesperson said, later adding the medals will not be reissued with a correction.
