🚨NEW: @we_energies says: "Crews and utility workers from the across the state are working on getting power restored after last night’s strong storms and possible tornado. So far we’ve restored power to more than 27,000 customers and will be working non-stop to get the light back on for everyone. Some of the worst damage we are seeing is in #Racine County and #Kenosha County, high winds or a possible tornado took down 50 to 60 power poles and miles of power lines. Crews will be working to rebuild the large section of the grid along Highway 142 that was damaged in that area." @CBS58

MORE @ 5: Cleanup continues in Lomira after a strong storm moved through the area Wednesday bringing winds reported up to 80 MPH and leaving significant damage behind. Residents are now bracing for another round of storms Thursday as recovery efforts get underway.

The entire area is under a flood watch. Tornado watch until 9 pm for counties close to the IL border. Greatest instability for strong to severe storms will be near the border

A Tornado Watch has been issued until 9pm for Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties. Thinking is that most of the tornadic activity stays south of the state line but we will continue to monitor closely this afternoon.

Update: The tornado threat for today has increased, especially near the IL border where a few strong tornadoes, EF-2 strength or higher, are possible. The flooding threat has decreased with the storms expected to move quickly. Brief urban flooding is still possible.

9:45 AM Radar: Quiet in SE WI now. A tornado watch (yellow) is in effect for parts of IA & IL until 3PM. Lots of severe thunderstorm warnings along that line. If it holds together it would impact some of our southern counties near the IL border shortly after noon.
