Lots of misinformation being spread about me the last couple days, so some quick facts - My name is Tina, not Guo Can (or Jessie Anderson). I’m one of many Raptor flight operators on console since flight2. Before that, I wrote control software for the vehicle, and was a stage software operator for flight1 - Been living in Starbase since surborbital days in 2020, absolutely love it down here. The people are wonderful and so so excited about the mission - the lows are lows but the highs are very high. My friends here are the best in the world, and I love them to the moon/mars and back :) - The reason I decided to say something was because facts matter, but also because wanted to share my real life journey to how I got here. I don’t have a masters or a PhD, I started full time directly after college after 2x internships also at spacex doing software/automation. I was on a couple design teams in college, including Stanford solar car mars rover. When I started spacex as a software engineer, I knew very little about fluids / propulsion engineering - I learned a lot of it on the job with some pretty incredible mentors. Then I swapped over to propulsion about halfway through my career and have been loving it ever since

In nature if one monkey, planted and harvested 1 trillion bananas and other monkeys could have done the same - yea, the other monkeys would probably rob the monkey that grew the bananas.

they’re not jobs if they’re not valued. they’re not valued if there aren’t customers out there willing to pay them for their great work. needing the government to “create” a job is tantamount to welfare and that level of welfare resolves these individuals to a dependency on the government and lack of economic mobility. and chains our people, collectively, to a more indentured future. you may be well intentioned but you have, and always will, fail to see the destitute folly of government as a job creation engine. i have tried to engage you on this topic, in good faith, with empiricism and reasoning, but you have only dodged my points and pivoted to some populist refrain about the importance of taxation and the evils of productivity-driven success. i can only assume you’re dodging these truths because you and the rest of the politburo leadership have deemed the conversation unsafe speech and put your oligopoly at risk. let’s leave it at that then. perhaps if your ways get their day, we can all bask in the glories of the dark ages ahead.

I’ll take the trillionaire creating thousands of millionaires over the millionaires creating trillions in debt.

The biggest threat to all of @elonmusk companies is if Democrats sweep all 3 branches in 28. 1.) Pack the court 13 from 9 - court becomes 8/5 liberal. 2.) Every branch of government it turned on all the companies. 3.) Ram through wealth tax. This keeps me up at night.

@unclebobmartin Your Hunt the Wampus post made me think of this. One of the early MMORPG games was Asheron's Call. They shut down the servers after 17 years. When the announcement was made, a group of players who were also programmers started a project to keep it alive. I helped a little in the early days. Really cool project. Minimum wage - don’t know about that. Back in the late 1970’s minimum wage was going up in yearly increments. 2.65, 3.10 then 3.35. I was working at a pizza place. When we closed Dec 31st, down came the menu boards and up with price increases to cover the wage increase. That was not isolated. Were we really better off or did the inflation just silently tax away our “raise”?
