I had wondeful time at Adelaide Writers' Week. I cannot believe it has been and gone. So funny, you get so excitied about an event-not just a writing thing but any big occasion-and then in a flash it is gone. A reminder to enjoy the fun special moments when we can.
I have always been in my industry union. Joining your industry union or organisations like the ASA supports everyone in the industry. Our collective voice is so powerful.
Making a living from #writing in Australia isn't easy. But it would be a lot harder without the last 60 years of hardfought wins by @asauthors. Australian royalties, copyright, contract advice, prof devt, standard fee rates, awards, mentors, promotion, PLR, ELR and now DLR.
There's an incredible line-up for Adelaide Writers' Week, including @CharlieArchbold, Gail Jones, Shannon Burns, @ashleighbwilson, Peter Singer and Adania Shibli to name a few! #adlww

ALT A copy of the middle-grade novel The Sugarcane Kids and the Red-Bottomed Boat, which has a bluey-green illustrated mangrove cover with a croc's head in the foreground and a boat with five kids in it, all looking in wonder and trepidation at their surroundings.
