Yesterday's marketsnapshot.
9 out of 10 top advancing companies happened to be the defaulting companies.
About 1 in every 5 companies on PSX is a defaulter company.
We need to find some out of box fix for this long existing malaise.

The non-rectification of CDC register is protected coz mostly the transfers represent trades executed at an exchange. Thats why the CDC Act only coveres the book entry of securities, which are listed. For unlisted companies, directors control entries in shareholders register.

I led the development of legal framework for CDC. Rectification of CDC register is not permitted even by courts due to the fact that securities are fungible. In other words, these have no distinct identity. In case of physical shares all certificates have unique numbers.
Courts can award damages but cannot order rectification of CDC register of ownership due to any errors, inadvertent or deliberate.
If rectification is allowed it will simply choke the CDC system.
