The last week of the mayoralty has certain been a busy one including visits to the Mayor’s Parlour for Parks volunteers and presenting the Mayor’s Awards for @ChelmsfordCVS . This year included a ‘Team Category’, awards were presented for outstanding voluntary service.

The Mayor enjoyed attending the Singing for the Brain Concert in @CCathedral, an enjoyable afternoon. The following day, the Mayor and Consort visited a resident, Violet who was celebrating her 103rd Birthday.

To round off the year saw the Deputies attend the launch of the Accessible Life Skills Kitchen & a parlour visit for Springfield volunteers. It has been a memorable & busy mayoral year which has come to an end, taking away many memories of the variety of engagements & events.

April has been a quieter month, Mayor & Consort visited the Play in the Park at Broomfield Village Hall. Last week, attended the County High School Senior Speech Day, held @CCathedral, an enjoyable evening, celebrating student success.

This followed with parlour visit from the Chelmsford U3A science group, & then attending the Sandon Parish Annual Assembly. At the weekend, the Mayor and Consort attended the Essex Hindu Samajam Vishu, Ugadhi, Gudi Padwa & Tamil New Year, taking part in the cultural event.

The Deputies had the privilege of attending the Essex Police Musical Society performance of The Pajama Game, another enjoyable afternoon.

The week started off with the Mayor & Consort attending the Declaration of the New @Essex_HS High Sheriff of Essex. Charles Bishop is the 843rd High Sheriff of Essex, the first to be appointed by King Charles III. It was a most interesting ceremony, held at County Hall.

The following day, the Mayor and Consort had an enjoyable time at the Easter Fun Day in Boreham, a very well attended event. The Mayor and Consort are looking forward to attending the @Homeinsteaduk charity event and watching the Easter Ice Show @RiversideLC at the weekend.

Deputies attended the Lions Club Presentation Evening. the Mayor’s Charities along with other charities received generous donations following their Christmas collections. The following evening was the Chelmsford Rotary Primary School Choir Competition, another enjoyable evening.

The Deputies welcomed a group of visitors to the Mayor’s Parlour, teaching staff visiting Baddow Hall Junior Schools from their twinned school Schillerschule in Backnang. This was followed by attending a careers fair @MoulshamHigh & a Green Canopy tree planting, Westlands School

The month ended with the Mayor, Consort, Deputy Mayor along with other Councillors & Past Mayors attending the valedictory for His Honour Judge Charles Gratwicke who retired as Circuit Judge & Honorary Recorder of Chelmsford, an interesting morning at the Chelmsford Crown Court.

The Mayoralty have been busy fundraising for their Charities. Afternoon Tea @chelmsfordcol students did a fantastic job preparing the food for the event & then a Curry Night was held at the Queens Head Boreham. The two events raised over £1,500 for the Mayor’s Charities.

The Regional Final of the Rotary Young Musician, a very competitive evening difficult decisions for the judges. A trip to Chelmsford Studio Theatre, this time to watch Offspringers performance of The Adventures of Mr Toad, another enjoyable evening showcasing local talent.

Earlier this week, the Mayor held the annual Community Evening, welcoming guests to @HylandsEstate for an evening of appreciation for the contribution the nominees give to the local community.

In the first weeks of March the Mayoralty have welcomed members of the School Council from Boreham Primary for an interesting parlour visit, to learn about democracy, the role of the Mayoralty. Followed by the opening of the 3G pitch at Beaulieu & play area at Melbourne Park.
