Right. And apparently COVID never happened. Churches were never closed from worshipping. Small businesses were never shut down. Families were never told they couldn’t gather for Christmas. Kids were never locked out of classrooms. Workers were never forced out of jobs. We’re all supposed to forget the years when “individual rights” meant whatever J.B. Pritzker’s executive orders allowed that week. I guess “individual rights” only pertain to people who violated our borders and jumped the lines of legally applying immigrants. Illinoisans remember.

There’s nothing ailing America that can’t be made right by what’s working in America. If Texas or Mississippi has cracked the code to an energy or education problem that’s holding the rest of us back, we should want to know how they did it. Our challenges aren’t red or blue— and neither are our solutions. They’re homegrown, and we should be stealing and scaling every one of them to bring down costs and open up opportunity.
