Entirely reasonable to debate whether the Chiefs should've addressed offense on the first two days, but this should be part of the context:
Chiefs defensive FAs signed contracts elsewhere totaling $254 million this offseason.
The top-paid Chiefs offensive FA was the backup QB.

The Chiefs decided to give Steve Spagnuolo 3 top 40 picks and Patrick Mahomes 0. Thatβs fine, but there are no excuses next year. Especially with three vets having huge contracts. Also, the bulk of FA was dedicated to D (Tonga, Alohi, Kader). This defense better be excellent.

The Chiefs donβt need to commit to the run! They need a home run hitter who can make defenses pay for staying in 2 high and light boxes. Either the D opens up the run game for explosives, or they get scared and change and open up some pass game. Walker should be a perfect fit! π

Injury Update on QB Patrick Mahomes:
Patrick Mahomes successfully underwent surgery in Dallas this evening with Dr. Dan Cooper to repair the tear in his left ACL. Mahomes will begin his rehab process immediately.
