Coffee with a Cop! Stronger communities start with simple conversations. It was wonderful to see everyone come together, connect, and support one another. Big thanks to Councilor Loretta Smith for organizing such a meaningful event!

Great work by FIT!
Around 9:30 PM on March 19, Focused Intervention Team officers spotted a wanted individual and quickly took them into custody. During the arrest, officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s front pocket, along with a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.

Great police work.
On January 11, officers heard gunshots in NW. Witnesses reported the shots came from a vehicle that fled. Officers located the car & stopped it. The investigation determined a passenger was responsible for the earlier shooting. A handgun & ammo were recovered, and one arrested.

It was my honor to participate in the 103rd Annual Sunshine Division Pack Night. Dozens of volunteers packed more than 4200 holiday food boxes for community members. I am so impressed with Sunshine and am proud that PPB can partner with them to help those in need in our community

I appreciate the great work of our officers and our partners with @PDXFire.
Today, Chief Day demonstrated what it means to protect and serve. While driving along West Burnside, he came across a single vehicle crash. He stopped to assist until officers arrived.

Had a great lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory in South Waterfront. Good food and good conversation with the owner about the impacts of the protest activity. The restaurant is open & safe to dine at - please support our local businesses!

On Aug. 28, during back-to-school patrols, our Bike Squad arrested a man for warrants and suspected drug activity within several hundred feet of a school and busses. Meth was recovered.

Great work!
In recent days, officers have disrupted possible street racing activity on North Marine Drive. Officers told dozens of drivers & onlookers that trespassing in business driveways & blocking sidewalks wouldn’t be tolerated. This proactive policing resulted in crowds dispersing.

We are receiving numerous inquiries regarding a police presence around North Portland. We know of 2 different activities: one is a police training for the PPB Crisis Negotiation Team. Another was a criminal warrant served by the US Postal Inspection Service and partners.

This year marks the 10th for the Vanport Mosaic Festival. I spent my morning in North Portland taking a walking tour of the land where Vanport once stood. I now have an even greater appreciation for the area’s rich history. You can learn more here: vanportmosaic.org/

Honored to speak at this annual ceremony. Please join me in remembering PPB members we’ve lost in the line of duty.
Today, at our annual Police Memorial Ceremony, we honored PPB officers who died in the line of duty. Additionally, Patrolman Andrew Laugeson, who was killed in the line of duty in 1917, had his name added to the wall. Thanks to his family, @MayorKWilson, & others for attending.

For the second year in a row, @salarmycascade awarded PPB the Commander’s Trophy for outdueling our partners at @PDXFire during Christmas bell ringing. While we’re thrilled, raising critical funds for the Salvation Army is an even greater victory!
