Imagine you leave Korea behind to pursue the American dream, arriving to America in the roaring 1980s only for your daughter to become a nutjob socialist that supports the ideology that destroyed the northern half of your country. I feel bad for her parents.

Gill: "You think Baltimore is a safe city?" Franklin: "Of course it is." Gill: "Okay. Do you know what the homicide rate is in Baltimore?" Franklin: "Exactly, no." Gill: "It's about 35 per 100,000. Do you know what the homicide rate is in the rest of the United States?" Franklin: "No, I don't." Gill: "I can tell you that the homicide rate in Baltimore is about five times the national average. Do you know how Baltimore's robbery rate compares to the rest of the United States?" Franklin: "At the moment, no, I don't." Gill: "It's about 8.4 times the national average. Do you know how Baltimore's assault rate compares to the national average?" Franklin: "No, I don't." Gill: "It's about 3.4 times higher. Does that sound like a safe city to you?" Franklin: "Safe to me and my family members." Gill: "So that's safe to you? Five times higher than the national average for homicides. That's a safe city?"🏙️ These people are all insane!

They told you Obamacare would discipline the insurance giants. Force them to compete. Drive down premiums through the magic of an online marketplace with a clean government website. Then you watched the website crash in October 2013, and you watched UnitedHealth, Aetna, and Anthem post record profits while your deductible climbed past $6,000. Here is what the exchanges actually built. The law forced you to buy a product under penalty of the individual mandate, then handed the insurers a fountain of taxpayer cash to make the product look affordable. Premium tax credits flowed straight to the carriers, not to you. In 2017 the federal government paid roughly $42 billion in subsidies, and that money landed in corporate accounts. The cost-sharing reduction payments did the same thing. The risk corridor program promised to backstop insurer losses outright, which is to say it socialized the downside while the executives kept the upside. Guaranteed customers. Guaranteed revenue. A captive market created by statute. Any cartel in history would have killed for terms like that. Free market economists have a plain name for this arrangement: rent-seeking. When a firm earns its money by extracting subsidies through political channels instead of by serving customers who choose freely, it stops being a business and becomes a tax farmer. The insurers lobbied for the mandate because they understood the arithmetic better than the voters did. America's Health Insurance Plans spent millions backing the bill, then acted shocked when premiums on the individual market more than doubled between 2013 and 2017 in many states. They were not the victims of the law. They wrote the parts that mattered. Strip away the subsidy and the whole structure collapses, because the prices were never real prices. A real price emerges when a buyer who can walk away meets a seller who can lose the sale. The exchange killed both conditions. You could not walk away without a penalty, and the seller could not lose because Washington covered the gap. This is not a market. The people who keep calling it one are counting on you not noticing who cashes the check.

When Jimmy Carter purchased the teachers’ union’s endorsement in 1979 by establishing the Department of Education, the USA was #1 in education. 46 years and $4.1 trillion dollars later, the USA is #40. We are, however, #1 in cost per student.

California launched a $23 million program to provide hearing aids for kids. Five years later — only 300 have been given out. That’s roughly $76,000 per hearing aid. Retail cost is about $1,400. Taxpayers are funding a system plagued by fraud and waste.

1. The Biden-Harris Justice Department opened this investigation. 2. Gavin Newsom’s chief of staff recently pled guilty to several federal felonies. (That’s why he’s panicking?) 3. Do you realize how silly you look after what Lawfare Democrats did to Trump?
The latest weaponization of the DoJ now targeting possible Dem presidential candidate. This was step 2 in Putin’s playbook.

It's a Biden investigation, Peaches. I know. You need idiots who vote Democrat to think Trump is so intimidated by you that he's targeting you, but it's just not true. Californians ESPECIALLY deserve to know just how dirty you and your wife really are.
My office is demanding the Trump Administration release any and all records on the Trump DOJ’s politically motivated, baseless fishing expedition. The American people deserve to know who ordered this abuse of power and how far it goes.

Gavin Newsom is doing the thing corrupt politicians always do when the spotlight finally turns back on them. He's pretending the investigation is the scandal. It's not. The scandal is that this man has spent his entire public life inside the gap between power and accountability, and he STILL acts stunned when somebody decides to take a peek behind the curtain. Gavin is a product of the California lobby machine, the one that trades names and makes sure their guys win. His whole business career was bankrolled by the billionaire Getty family. But you'll never hear Gavin rage about Getty money. He saves that for Elon. This is a man whose entire political career is a pattern: overreach, scandal, fines for "irregular" accounting. Over and over. He had an affair with his own appointments secretary, who happened to be the wife of his campaign manager and best friend. Btw; she got a $10,154 city payout. Supposedly no wrongdoing. Why are taxpayers paying for Gavin's adultery? He believes he's above the law. That if it's for the "right reasons," the law is made to be broken. That's what every dictator tells himself. 2004, he issued marriage licenses against state law. Courts voided them. French Laundry, November 2020. He's got the whole state locked in their homes. He went after Elon for keeping Tesla open, told him to comply or get out of California, played hard-ass enforcer on national TV. Then he drove up to Napa and threw a $400 plate dinner for lobbyists. Like cmon dude, at least pretend to believe the stuff you say on TV. (oh and btw, multiple businesses he owns got PPP relief during covid. just saying.) Beyond that, I don't get how anyone thinks this man is a great governor, let alone honest. Under his nose, $20B in unemployment fraud, $800M of it mailed to people in prison cells. Has spent $24B on homelessness yet no auditor or taxpayer can tell what happened with the money or if anything changed. The high speed rail is a running joke, $33B to $100B. No one's buying innocent OR competent. And then there's his wife. Her nonprofit paid her $1.8M over the years and routed another $2.1M to her OWN production company. Then the $20M state diaper program, run through a different nonprofit she co-founded, whose co-CEO sits on her board. Why is his wife the only person suitable for all these deals? That's family dealing, plain and simple, and it's the exact thread federal investigators are pulling on right now. Her finances. Her taxes. Her nonprofits. So let's add it up, Gavin. Your best friend resigned over your affair. Your chief of staff just pleaded guilty to federal fraud. You've got two ethics fines in two years and the state's own enforcer calling it a "pattern of repeated violations." Your wife is pulling millions out of nonprofits and landing state contracts. $20B in fraud walked out the door. $24B on homelessness that vanished. A bullet train that's a national punchline. And your pitch is that the only reason anyone's asking questions is that Trump doesn't like you? And to be clear, some of these investigations started under the Biden Administration. Come on, dude. This is the disease with these people. Decades inside the machine, public money in, private benefit out, no consequences, and the second anyone investigates they wrap themselves in democracy and scream persecution. But Gavin Newsom thinks scrutiny happens BENEATH him.
