Continuously challenging myself and what I am capable of. Excited to connect, discover, adventure and uncover what this wonderful world holds around the corner!
Yesterday we welcomed Dr. @AimeeKGunther and Dr. Andrew Todd from @NRC_CNRC for a visit and tour of Zero Point Cryogenics. It was great to discuss cryogenics and the role that ZPC's technology plays in supporting Canada's National Quantum Strategy!
@ChrisABCassin and @elise_usunier are attending Photonics West as part of @ISED_CA's Quantum Mission to San Francisco. Are you attending? Reach out to meet them and to learn more about what we're building at Zero Point Cryogenics!

In 1867, Thaddeus Lowe, the father of military aerial reconnaissance in the US, patented a refrigeration system using carbon dioxide. That year, he also bought a steamship and put a refrigeration device on it for the transport of frozen meat.

The history of low temperature physics is inextricably linked to the meat packing industry. Not my favorite fact as a vegetarian low temperature physicist!

Did you know? In 1856, James Harrison patented an ether liquid-vapor compression refrigeration system and developed the first practical ice-making and refrigeration room for the meat-packing industries of Australia.

The Joule-Thomson effect describes the temperature change of a gas or liquid when it is forced through a porous plug (while keeping it insulated so that no heat is exchanged with the environment). This effect is key to starting our #DilutionRefrigerators!
I didn't have time to run ZPC and swing a hammer. I reached out to the Bissell Centre and within 24 hours they sent me these two amazing human beings that have done all the heavy lifting so I can focus on building our business. Thank you Paul and Jim #community#YEG
Did you know? In 1823, at the Royal Institute in London, Michael Faraday produced liquid chlorine by putting it under high pressure. The discovery of this technique allowed him to liquify all of the known gases except for six, starting a race to liquify these final gases.
This Wednesday, the Founder and CTO of Zero Point Cryogenics, Dr. John P. Davis will be speaking at the next Unikorn Seminar about Superfluid Helium Electromechanics.
Tune in to watch it live!
