I want to say something about affordability. It is a goal, but our ambitions must be so much grander.
The fight for the American Dream is more than just making life less a ripoff. Just getting by or making ends meet should be the floor, not the ceiling.
This fight is for the good life, one where your hard work means real security at every stage of life. Where you have freedom to start a family, to have hobbies and take vacation, to care for sick family members, to retire with dignity, and to serve your community.
These things should not be luxury items, and we should be unsparing and vicious in our fights against corruption and the powerful that have rigged the system and gutted the American Dream.
