This ridiculous statement (delivered like a postmodern poem) makes one thing quite clear: the UK government does not believe the Palestinians have a state. It is therefore recognising ... nothing. This self-contradictory, self-indulgent statement has no legal effect, but it does weaken the UK and strengthen Hamas.

I was watching @bbclaurak this morning and felt her unease through the TV as Husam Zomlot talked at and over her.
Zero criticism of Hamas from him and we are, through @UKLabour, about to dance with the devil (terrorists) once again. The only beneficiary is Hamas.
