Midwife/Labour Ward & Birth Centre Manager at Tameside General. Mum of 3 beautiful boys and Chubbs the gorgeous Dogue De Bordeaux (RIP 💔) ALL views are my own
@Meghan_Trainor would you like to help Midwives and Obstetricians world wide improve outcomes for mums and babies? I attended a course this week ran by @BabyLLTraining and your song “All About The Bass” was referred to in relation to the fetal heart rate base line…. Continued….
1/3 NHS facing ‘crisis of public trust’ as people fear being failed by A&E: I’m sad but not surprised to read this. As a family with @OckendenPhoebe we’ve had (I think) 7 999 transfers into ED with her epilepsy since Sept. We’ve seen staff doing…. theguardian.com/society/2025…
I qualified as a midwife 18 years ago, back then MW jobs in the NHS were few and far between. In fact, my temp contract expired while I was on mat leave 15 years ago and there was no job for me to return to, I was unemployed for 6 months! 1/2
Fast forward 15 years and maternity units across the country cannot recruit enough midwives and are dealing with DAILY staffing challenges. Now ask yourself why CQC found more than half of maternity units were inadequate or requires improvement 🤔 Wish the context would be shared
The next two days! Bringing @CatherineH_RM & @Sblackwell192’s post #MatSafety2022 (?) dream to life by offering the next step up in CTG training.
The 1st break has already been filled with interesting conversations and wonderful ideas. Very excited to see what’s going to happen
It’s finally here!
Today we’re starting our two day face-to-face programme of the CTG Train the Leaders course, supported by @LeighDayHealth.
We’ve got fetal monitoring experts in the room learning more about leading in improving fetal monitoring locally and nationally.
Pleased to see funding commitment to support the role out of the Avoiding Brain Injuries in Childbirth programme in today’s #budget - an important project in partnership with the brilliant @THIS_Institute.

More evidence that infants with #HIE chorio act slightly differently….
🧠more abnormal EEG patterns
🧠more neonatal epilepsy
Interesting how freq. the chorio was subclinical….
🌟So remember to send off those placentas!🌟 #neotwitter#newbornbrainsnature.com/articles/s41390-0…
@TamesideCouncil Please tell me how charging NHS staff £250 for a 6 month parking pass is acceptable? Which has increased from £140 in the last 3 months 😵 Plus having to pay £250 upfront with no option to pay monthly! £500 per year to park near work to provide a public service😳
Context - I live a 20 minute drive away from Tameside General, public transport take me a minimum of 1 hour 15 minutes on 2 buses on foot, adding at least 2.5 hours onto a 10 hour working day! Driving is really my only option!
Please look at your parking charges for TGH staff!
@AngelaRayner I emailed you about this but your automatic response tells me you can’t respond because I’m not one of your constituents. This parking charge will put staff off working for TGH which is in your constituency 😳 Please please help 🙏
I sometimes get told by MPs that their patients “don’t mind if private companies deliver their healthcare”.
If you do mind, and want the NHS to stay out of private hands, please RT this. Let’s send MPs a message 💙
We’re trying to get as many followers as Rishi Sunak so we can show the government just how many people are prepared to fight for the NHS and its staff.
Please can you help by following us and retweeting this?
The Illegal Migration Act is clear: Britain is removing itself from the international asylum regime. There will be no humanity for refugees and no solidarity for the international community. Amid massive competition, it is one of our most shameful moments in modern history.
There are excellent politicians in Labour. Excellent, compassionate, thoughtful politicians. Dozens of them. Brilliant people.
We’re going to have to help them gain a greater voice in the party if Starmer becomes Prime Minister.
Politicians are destroying our public healthcare system, and it’s not properly reported, because of the nature of our majority-privately-owned mainstream media🚨
So I’ve decided to explain what’s going on- I’ve started a newsletter. I’ve been campaigning for the NHS for almost..
