Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik held bilateral talks with Tajikistan’s Ambassador H.E. Yusuf Sharifzoda in Islamabad to formalize regional climate and conservation protocols. Pakistan and Tajikistan share deep ecological ties, hosting approximately 13,000 glaciers each.
Both nations have lost roughly 1,000 glaciers to rising global temperatures. Discussions focused on a proposed regional climate and trade corridor, cross-border wildlife conservation for the Snow Leopard, and aligned water management diplomacy.
Dr. Musadik Malik will represent Pakistan at the 4th High-Level Conference on Water for Sustainable Development in Dushanbe from May 25 to 28 to advance this shared environmental agenda.
