Beautiful day to learn & share: Scientists from 5 Kansas universities meet at KU's Adams Alumni Ctr at the @KansasEPSCoR MAPS symposium to share research on the role of microorganisms in the water, plants and soil.
We are pleased to announce the #BeTheVision recipients are The Garden City Company, Maize High School - Climate Club, and the Public Wholesale Water Supply District No. 23! Congrats! #KSWaterFuture19
Meet our people: Ted Harris, Bio Survey assistant research professor, focuses on harmful algal blooms (HABs), an ongoing problem in our state. Yes, that's pond scum--or, rather, samples of HABs taken from Kansas reservoirs and studied in the tank array at the #KUFieldStation.
They came, they scienced, they walked away w/ @GPLimno’s Best Undergraduate Presentation award, joining the ranks of the heroes they rubbed elbows w/ today. Thank you, @goodgracious23 & Iowa State Crew, for a gracious welcome & for your generosity to @ClimateMhs#RehabHABs
We had an amazing time at @GPLimno Conference presenting our data collected with help from @DrCyanoHAB and @USGS_KS. Thanks for everyone who allowed us to have this great experience, especially @LadyHammett
What a difference a year can make! One year ago today, we went to the City of Wichita’s ASR to learn about water treatment. Today we’re headed to Ames, Iowa for the @GPLimno to present our data about Wichita’s water supply! #GPLC2019
Thursday we had the amazing opportunity to spend the day with @DrCyanoHAB at the University of Kansas Field Station. The time that Dr. Ted Harris spent teaching us R programming and lake biology is something we will not soon forget!
It was a great time last night at the 2020 Kansas Teacher of the Year Banquet! Congratulations again to our amazing Teacher-Advisor, Mrs. Hammett. We are forever thankful for all the opportunities she has given us!! @LadyHammett@thebotty
Congratulations Mrs. Amy Hammett, science teacher at @MaizeEagles, for being honored as a secondary nominee for Kansas Teacher of the Year! @ksdehq@maize266#OneMa1ze
