Pope Leo visited the Sagrada Família in Barcelona this evening, celebrating Mass and blessing the newly completed central tower. Gaudí, a Catalan architect, devoted the final years of his life entirely to the design and construction of La Sagrada Família. He created one of the most distinctive and ambitious buildings in the world, knowing he would never see it finished. He is buried in the crypt beneath the basilica.
