Douglas MacArthur followed orders from civilians, leading to a deadly 75 year standoff with China.
Curtis LeMay followed orders from civilians, resulting in the loss of the Vietnam War.
Liberal historians have been unkind to these men, but the truth is over 100,000 Americans died because these two conservatives obeyed idiotic orders from Democrats pandering to globalists, peaceniks and marxists
Yet—by following orders—they upheld the Republic and prevented FAR greater harm.
Now, our liberal generals face a choice:
1.Swiftly follow orders
2.Resign in protest
3.Undermine the Republic
Let’s be clear: slow-rolling the President and hiding behind the bureaucracy isn’t neutrality-it’s option 3-actively undermining the Republic.
P.S. I’ve read dozens of books about them. Your pithy X comment isn’t going to change my mind. These were two great men - if imperfect - men.
It’s still difficult for me to come to terms with how much the institution I served in for three decades has destroyed the most important principle binding us together. Without it we would have had a monarchy instead of a republic.
