Some of the loudest voices on this app talking about training high level/professional athletes have never actually trained them. The fundamentals are still king.
Sprints, sleds, jumps, bounds, throws. Push, pull, squat, hinge. It’s almost as if fundamental reality of elite sports performance training. is betrayed by the performative nature of what is promoted as elite performance training.

Trap bar deadlifts, rows, bench press, explosive medicine ball work, cuts & sprints Notice: no circus tricks on bosu balls or eyewash Good for the pros, great for the youth athlete Simple ≠ easy

The Strength and Conditioning community lost a legend. Thanks for all you did to push the field forward. Rest in power and rest in peace Uncle Kurt.
That was for you, Coach. We are saddened by Kurt Hester’s passing away earlier today. He inspired us every day to be unbreakable.

Absolutely inspiring
"Death is undefeated, but I'll take it to three overtimes. That's strength." Houston strength coach Kurt Hester was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma. Six months later, he may have lost his hair, but not his indomitable spirit. More from @JenLada:

Some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a podcast! Appreciate @StrCoachNetwork for giving so many of us the platform to voice opinions and give strength coaches actionable items to better ourselves and this field!
At Harvard, they manage 40 varsity teams. At Towson, we had 19. No matter the school, scheduling the weight room is always a battle. In our latest episode, @kylejacksic dropped a brilliant strategy to solve this problem. Simple, scalable, and effective. Full convo here: youtu.be/3Ry1cyYKHmk

UNK Prospects Camp Player Spotlight @BoysTown's '26 DB/ATH Fredrick Madu (@FMadu34) talking about his experience at the @UNK_Football Omaha Prospects Camp hosted at @m_south_hs Keeping a close eye on this rising prospect. Fredrick is using camps like this to showcase his growth and a work ethic that's second to none. Explosive Athlete: A multi-sport talent, his speed and explosiveness from being a track athlete translate directly to the football field, giving him great range and closing speed as a DB/ATH. High Ceiling & Coachable: He's dedicated to the process, absorbing coaching and getting better with every rep. This commitment to learning is what college coaches look for in a developing player. It's in the Bloodline: Hard work runs in the family. His brother, Samuel (@SamuelMadu33), was the '24 #1 CB in NY and is now at @GopherFootball. Fredrick knows nothing is given and everything is earned. A coach is getting a high-character athlete with elite athletic traits and a deep understanding of the dedication required to succeed. The potential is massive for this 2026 prospect! Performance video to follow soon. #NEBPreps #WiredAxcessPodcast #Uncommitted #FootballRecruiting #Classof2026 #Athlete #TrackNation #Bloodline

Some spinal engine work that has been a major focus within our training programs, especially at @X2_Baseball. The human spine is much more complex than we give it credit for. The people who can do these well are usually our best movers. Little by little 📈 Follow the ‘gram….

Throughout the season, athletes even at the collegiate level will get “a little lazy” with the pre-game warm-up routine. However, it is utterly important that engagement remains at a high for mental and movement prep.

Keep the main thing the main thing, in principle — as it pertains to warm up sequence, but change some of the overall movement selection and learn to re-engage the fun, visualization/imagery, and importance to the team you’re working with.

Going through the motions mid-season may be inevitable, unless you’re aware and decide to keep the athletes in the zone and looking forward to the warm-up. New mobility movements, COD drills, reaction drills, pre-game competitions— and even dances! ENGAGEMENT IS EVERYTHING.
