In barely a few seconds @BowenBBC's commentary on the Iran/US deal on @BBCr4today just now was extraordinarily good. In a world where my media seems, too often, to have lost collective memory he puts events in such informed context.

Some irony here in that it was Conservative MPs in particular who railed against the BBC sending staff abroad to cover major events.
The @BBC has its World Cup presenters in a Salford studio whilst ITV will be live from New York. Licence fee payers deserve better. The BBC has trebled the number of people earning more than £100k in the last 5 years. Any good business would make cuts to senior management, not the viewer experience.

Coincidence The Greens not mentioned on @bbclaurak this morning-as if they are not running in the Makerfield by election-this is scandalous from an institution that dictates the social mores to such a wide audience-rank hypocrisy @bbclaurak

A judge decided that they knew better than the jury. That is not how our justice system is meant to work.
These four protesters, are going to be convicted on terrorist offences. That's very serious for their futures, but also for the justice system in our country. If people can admit liability for criminal activity, but still be found guilty as terrorists, it's deeply concerning.

Please do traipse up to these mobs in, say, loyalist East Belfast and praise them because “all they want to be is Irish.” Let us know how that goes.
Kilmeade to an agreeing Markwayne Mullin: "In Belfast they're standing up because their leaders have let them down. They're trying to take their country back. They want to label them as racist. All they want to be is Irish. They want Ireland back. And that is what we've been saying for the longest time. I see a lot of the same fights here."

🚨BREAKING: Filton 4 sentenced as terrorists Amnesty opposes the use of terrorism powers in this case. It is completely disproportionate to punish protesters for criminal damage as if they were terrorists, a sentence which stays with you for life. The defendants in today’s case were sentenced as terrorists because prosecutors want to make an example of them. Today's decision shows how direct action protesters could be treated in the future. The use of terrorism laws against direct action protesters must end. Together we must continue calling out the abuse of power and fighting for our right to protest. Media covering Musk trillion without any real regard to broader issues of inequality, tech bro abuses of power, his extreme politics. Glad to have been in a primary school this morning where the views on Musk were a lot wiser and less flattering.
Today, Elon Musk, a trillionaire, pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500. If we end that absurdity and lift the cap on taxable income, we can make Social Security solvent for 75 years and expand benefits by $2,400. My Social Security bill does that.

It is difficult to overstate just how dumb, ignorant, stupid, the people who currently govern the United States are. Here is the Homeland Security Secretary claiming that the unionists & loyalists in *Northern* Ireland ‘want to be Irish’ & want to be in Ireland. Pure ignorance.

I’ve just read a piece from a high-profile British journalist, which will be widely read, that explores the reasons for the Belfast riots without going into any local dynamics. Too many journalists are acting like Belfast and Southampton are interchangeable. They’re not.

Am I the only person that finds it nuts that on @BBCNewsnight tonight there are 4 English men discussing what is happening here in Belfast like they are experts? They know nothing about this place. Belfast is still not as British as Finchley...#Newsnight
