Today on St Barnabas Day, we give thanks for Barnabas, the “son of encouragement” (Acts 4:36). We are named after Barnabas, a good man, full of faith and the Holy Spirit. He strengthened the body of Christ and advocated for Paul when others were hesitant (Acts 9:26–27).

Today at Barnabas, we remember and celebrate Good Friday. On the day of sacrifice and true love, Jesus, in His perfection, willingly gave His life for the sins of us, His children. John 19:30 "Jesus said, 'It is finished.' With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."

There are about 1 million Christians held as ‘slaves’ working in Pakistan’s brick factories. I’ve been there, it’s utterly horrific. Join @BarnabasAid @AjudaBarnabas to see what you can do to help suffering and persecuted Christians in places like this.

I’ve been to brick kilns in Pakistan, just like the one in this video. The unbearable heat, smell and misery is hard to explain. I thank God that @BarnabasAid is freeing so many Christians from this inhuman situation. Join us, and be part of something that sets slaves free.
Pakistan’s 20,000 brick kilns operate disproportionately through Christians trapped in a life of gruelling labour. You can help. Prayerfully consider giving to our project. Every amount, however small, will help these families escape the kilns: brnw.ch/21wZVGi

In the US it is a criminal offence to pretend you were a military hero. It's called the Stolen Valor Act 2013. There are so many Walter Mitty characters, fakers, chancers and wannabes. Hurricane Melissa – Please help rebuild churches in Jamaica and the Caribbean Hurricane Melissa ripped through the Caribbean earlier this week leaving a trail of destruction across Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and Bermuda. Jamaica took the brunt, with torrential rain and terrifying winds of up to 185mph causing catastrophic damage to homes and hospitals, schools and churches. Can you help our brothers and sisters in Jamaica to build back better from Melissa?

Christians are severely persecuted in Pakistan. With over 1 million Christians held as bonded labourers - effectively modern day slaves, and others facing the daily threat of false blasphemy allegations, it is hard place to be a follower of Jesus. If it wasn’t for organisations like @BarnabasAid you’d never hear about these tragic stories. Use your voice to call for greater awareness of the suffering our brothers and sisters are going through.

Replying to @montie
Sadly you are right @montie - Christians remain the number 1 persecuted group in the world. It gets very little attention. Fortunately organisations like @BarnabasAid exist to support suffering, persecuted and displaced followers of Christ all around the world.
