🐟🐟🐟Is fast prey also easy prey? Researchers from the @scioi_cluster have shown in an underwater field study in the #ocean off Mexico that the faster a school of prey moves, the higher the capture rate of the striped marlin: igb-berlin.de/en/news/fast-p…@HumboldtUni
New paper out!
@LeibnizIGB and @scioi_cluster scientists have discovered that when striped marlin hunt groups of small fish, the faster the escape the more the marlin get to eat!

Fantastic international conference of Poeciliid Biologists at @txst just ended. Big thank you to Cummings and Gabor-Asbury labs for great organisation! Here are some impressions...and yes, we helpt @michitobler to catch some fish! See you '26 in Padua!
What an amazing time at the 11th International Conference of Poeciliid Biologists!! Had a blast in San Marcos talking livebearers and research with so many awesome scientists

NEW PAPER ALERT! Predator exposure early in life stabilises and keeps among-individual behavioral variation low. New study using clonal Amazon mollies revealed. Congrats for the great work Ulrike Scherer and Molly Kressler! #teamfish#animalpersonalityrdcu.be/dUbLa
Check it out 👇📖@blusquare and I share our experiences @scioi_cluster as computational modellers joining biologists on field trips. 🌵🌊 From stinky sulphur streams and uncharted ocean waters to building computer models that explain biological phenomena. 🐟💻 #fishteam
After unforeseen production delays, it was great to return the final proofs of our new edited book back to the production team today. Hopefully not too long to go before it comes out. A massive shout out again to co-editor @ulrikacandolin and our amazing chapter contributors 🙏
