Humans are creatures of habit and familiarity. The digital world is not a replacement for the physical world, but rather an extension of it. We as people consume big brands every day. We wear, drive, watch, sleep, eat, & drink all of these brands in society. It is only natural when new people come into the digital space to attach themselves to things that they recognize. Brands like Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Street Fighter, Ninja Turtles, Coca-Cola, Pixar, etc., are these anchors. Kind of like when we move to a new area, we try to find something we are familiar with to give us comfort.
What's valuable in the physical world will eventually carry over into the digital. Maybe not a direct 1:1 translation, but the value will be there.
