Pushing back against the fear-mongering around the Safe-T Act. Re: meme listing non-detainable offenses, truth is the current system already allows ppl out if they have money for bail. Under new law bail is not a factor but judges are able to detain ppl they deem to be a threat.

I was delighted today to vote to continue the ban on assaualt weapons in Cook County. The original resolution dates back to 2006. We must be the change we want to see!! Gun violence is a public health crisis!!
