Parents: Give yourself some grace. Being a parent is freaking DIFFICULT if your daughter doesn’t play sports. If she does, then I guarantee it is worse. We spend a lot of money for programs, training and travel and there are going to be times when she doesn’t play well or have her best outing. I guarantee she feels worse than you do. If your kids are playing competitive sports, the return on investment is HIGH even if she doesn’t play beyond high school or AAU. She is learning how to work with a team, time management, overcoming adversity, work hard for something, fail, succeed, play with girls she may not like, have to tell her teammates they are not being good people, work with a coach they don’t like…all of these are TRANSFERABLE skills that cannot be taught unless experienced. I see you parents-hang in there!
