During the height of the Syrian conflict, Turkey housed the largest population of Syrian refugees in the world (3.2 million), followed by Lebanon (1.5 million) and Jordan (620,900), not to mention Iraq and Egypt also hosted sizable refugee populations.
Here in Turkey, we also have the largest Uyghur diaspora outside of Central Asia, with Turkey becoming a safe haven for persecuted Uyghurs.
Although majority Christian, Turkey has also become a place of refuge for displaced Ukrainians and Russians escaping the war.
But of course, basic facts do not serve the bigoted agenda these people are trying to push.
