Around the world, consumer choice is under pressure. New rules, new bans, new limits — shaping what we buy, what we use, and how we live. But consumers deserve better. Consumer Choice Center — an independent, non-partisan global advocacy group. We champion freedom of choice, innovation, and abundance in everyday life. We use research, data, storytelling, and on-the-ground activism to make sure your voice is heard in parliaments, in the media, online, and on the streets. Across every continent, we are there where decisions are made. We empower people everywhere to speak up, stand up, and demand better. Tens of thousands of members. Dozens of campaigns. Because Your Choice is Our Fight.

World Cup visitors aren't discovering that Americans are excessive or gluttonous, as they were told. They're discovering what an economy looks like when it's allowed to optimize for the consumer. My latest for @Tennessean tennessean.com/story/opinion…

Signal is leaving Canada. Windscribe is moving its headquarters. Apple and Meta are sounding the alarm. Not because of the market. Because of a law that threatens to break encryption for everyone! They're not. Bill C-22 would force companies to retain Canadians' metadata for up to one year and break encryption for everyone in the process. There is no way to open a backdoor for the government without opening it for bad actors too. This bill cannot be fixed. It must be scrapped. Our North American Affairs Manager Jay Goldberg breaks down exactly what's at stake for every Canadian online. Take a look: calgarysun.com/opinion/colum…

@tarmizianuwar , Malaysia Country Associate at the @ConsumerChoiceC , said, “We understand the concern raised by Tan Sri Ayob Khan. Drug-laced vape liquids are dangerous and those responsible must face firm action. But calling for a total ban is not a serious enforcement strategy. It risks turning consumers into scapegoats for enforcement failure.” He added that the core issue lies in enforcement gaps rather than consumer behaviour, arguing that illegal supply chains should be the main focus of authorities instead of restricting legal adult users.

#HetVolkRegeert #ConsumentSpreekt

54.4% of cigarettes in Malaysia are illegal. So who does a vaping ban actually protect? Over half of cigarettes sold in Malaysia are illegal. That's not a consumer choice problem, that's a policy failure! The Consumer Choice Center is calling on Malaysia to reform Act 852, not replace it. Treating vapes and cigarettes as identical under the law ignores the science and pushes consumers toward the illegal market instead regulated alternatives. Smarter regulation means more tax revenue, a stronger legal market, better protection for young people, and a real path away from cigarettes for adult smokers. Our Malaysia Country Associate Tarmizi Anuwar breaks it all down. Full interview: focusmalaysia.my/ccc-malaysi…

a "global" AI freeze leaves the field open for Chinese models (who won't comply) and reduces the ability for AI companies in liberal democracies to compete for consumers let companies compete to provide value for users while setting good standards, frontier or not

As @ConsumerChoiceC stresses, the SECURE Data Act “contains many critical components to ensure that consumers are protected and that firms have a singular model to follow rather than trying to navigate the maze of different state laws.” Let’s give Americans clearer rights over their personal information and end the complicated regulations that burden companies operating in multiple states.

Our Managing Director @FredCyrusRoeder asks: Why does healthcare get more expensive while our most complex technological innovations keep getting cheaper? Price controls are hurting patients more than we think. It is time to regulate smarter.

Altruism only works when it's voluntary. The moment the government decides where your money goes (and who it advocates for) it stops being charity.

Sports betting, as well as any other form of gambling, is best not to be regulated in a panic. Watch how consumers behave, create controlled environments to mitigate harm, and remember... for the vast majority of players, it’s just good fun. washingtonexaminer.com/op-ed…

A 50% tariff is a 50% tax. And you're the one paying it. You were promised lower prices and more jobs. Instead, your car costs more, your groceries are up, and small manufacturers are laying off workers.

Trump's Section 232 tariffs were sold as a way to bring manufacturing back to America. But every steel job "saved" has cost U.S. taxpayers $650,000, and for every one of those jobs, 80 others that depend on affordable steel are at risk. Stephen Kent breaks down the real cost of tariff policy, and what needs to change. Take a look: dailywire.com/news/the-trump…

Last week, Gov. Polis vetoed HB26-1236, and we couldn't be more proud to have played a part in that! The Consumer Choice Center wrote directly to the Governor urging him to reject this bill. Because HB26-1236 would have dismantled the model that allows ride-share, food delivery, fintech, and other consumer-facing platforms to operate in Colorado — pushing costs back to consumers through higher fares, higher fees, and fewer services. Gov. Polis agreed. "The bill presents too much legal risk to Colorado's business environment and consumers, with limited upside for our small businesses," he said. But the work isn't done. SB26-134 is still on his desk, and it puts your credit card rewards, your cash back, your miles, and your hotel points at risk. The deadline is June 13. One win down, one to go. Thank you @jaredpolis!
