DISCLOSURE DAY. The funniest and most unrealistic thing about the new Spielberg movie was that a Kansas City NBC affiliate had like 50 staff on set for a local TV news broadcast.

DISCLOSURE DAY. Y'all, it's not demonic. Please relax. Its only real problem is that it's a boring movie that kind of goes nowhere.

I think it’s nice that Rubio and Newsom are sitting together at the World Cup. I think it’s nice that Vance is going on The View. More broadly, I think it’s nice when people behave normally, even when their politics diverge sharply.
This kind of stuff is good.

Elon Musk's trillion-dollar day doesn't have to bother you. Envy is an emotion, and it will wreck your life.

I actually agree with this. Not a fan of these AI-generated campaign videos that put words in the mouths of opponents, using their likeness. Not sure we should regulate or legislate videos made and posted on social—but I could get behind blocking ad buys for TV or digital.
AI deepfake videos make candidates appear to say things they never said. We’ve seen that in Kentucky, Texas and now in Vermont. These outrageous lies are a direct threat to democracy. Congress needs to act NOW.

This is really cool. Meta is giving away Ray-Ban glasses to blind veterans 🇺🇸. The use cases for navigation, shopping, and cooking are quite exciting.

I'll keep my numbers to myself—but when Elon succeeds—so can you. Ditch envy. Stop complaining and pleading ignorance of how markets work. Get involved or pay someone to do it for you.
You don’t have to love Elon Musk to recognize what this headline says about us. A country that spends more time criticizing wealth creation than encouraging it sends a clear message to builders: your success is tolerated, not celebrated. Canada should be the best place in the world to build ambitious companies. Headlines like this make us look like we’re not quite ready for that.

still obsessed with the fact that Star Wars drew on Narnia for the "world between worlds." Dave Filoni at his finest.
if you think about it, the wood between worlds in Narnia is kinda the backrooms-coded. it's literally a liminal dimension where you can accidentally slide between space and time across various realities

I would really like to see a new movie about the Founding that emphasizes the youth of these men in its casting choices.
Ages of Founding Fathers in 1776: James Monroe, 18 Aaron Burr, 20 John Marshall, 20 Alexander Hamilton, 21 James Madison, 25 Benjamin Rush, 30 John Jay, 30 Thomas Jefferson, 33 Thomas Paine: 39

NEW from the latest War Department tranche of UAP files. This incident occurred in the north east of the United States, and the below is derived from statements provided to the FBI by an eyewitness to the event. The FBI has assessed the individual as "highly credible." "In October 2024, at approximately 1851 local time in the northeastern United States, an eyewitness observed a light source below the horizon, hovering above a pond at an estimated distance of 2,700 feet. The luminous object resembled a 'plasma-like sphere' intermittently changing shape and luminosity. At times, the primary light source appeared to separate into smaller luminous points." "A luminous point below the primary source hovered just above the water and did not appear consistent with a surface reflection. The object remained generally stationary for approximately 45 minutes before disappearing. The eyewitness did not hear any sound from the objects. This video was captured by a private citizen on an iPhone and subsequently analyzed and authenticated by the U.S. Government. To protect the individual’s privacy, the footage has been cropped. Apart from this privacy-protective measure, no edits, enhancements, or alterations have been made to the visual content."

The Tenth Commandment has never been more relevant or necessary than today. Malicious envy is now treated as political and moral virtue.

This is very silly. The question isn't whether some people spend money on betting that they'd otherwise spend on food, it's whether this is meaningfully different from any other discretionary spend that competes with household budgets...streaming apps, beer, football tickets...

you argue that "spending on food eaten away from home fell by $3.74 per week"—to which I say, this person has way bigger issues than betting being legalized. These sorts of studies always assume that the consumer can be made to make your approved choice with their spare cash.
