Me too Rachel, but carded for the seniors discount.
I get carded at the wine store if I don't wear makeup

I started querying in 2023. In 2024 I cried on vacation every night because I didn't want to query anymore but couldn't convince myself to stop. That book is being published this year, and I'm ✨ vague ✨ with another. I was terrified to query again, but I'm glad I did.
A lot of success stories skip the part where someone almost quit for very reasonable reasons.

This is Mack. In his head he absolutely crushed this agility course. Who are we to tell him otherwise. 14/10

Visited my 7th province today. 3 more and a territory or two to go. One day. First visited Canada in 1992. It’s an amazing country. You should come and have look for yourself.

🍒🫑 As Canadians head into the Victoria Day long weekend, we’re reminded of the hard work that goes into growing the fresh fruits and vegetables we all enjoy—and the importance of a strong, sustainable food system. While many are taking a well-deserved break, growers across the country are in the fields, greenhouses, and orchards—planting, tending, and preparing for the season ahead. Their work supports food security for all Canadians. This weekend, let’s take a moment to thank the people behind our food. Wishing everyone a safe and restful long weekend! 🇨🇦🌱 #VictoriaDay #CdnAg #FruitVegGrownInCanada #ThankAGrower #FoodSecurity

Fabulously helpful. Include emotion!!!
I've been seeing a bunch of posts about synopsis today. Not sure if this'll help anyone, but here's how I do mine. They take FOREVER to type out so, following my (reverse) outline, I do voice-to-text, saying everything that happens in the story, including character arcs. 1/2

My lovely girls wish my friends happy holidays and they wish all writers appreciative audiences for their books.

The good news is everything is funny at 50, and at 60, you simply find life ironic and highly entertaining. Enjoy the ride. The squirrels appreciate your camaraderie.
anyone else hit 40 and then just cry at everything like "omg that squirrel! just trying to provide for the winter"

I’ve received this one. More than once. I thought they found my premise fantastic and my writing to have potential.
“…we didn’t quite fall in love with this as we had hoped…” This phrase is used a lot in literary agent rejections I receive, and I always find it a bit demeaning. Is it just me? #WritingCommunity #AmQuerying #AmWriting

An hour. Big agent. Began “Dear Jake”. My name’s Corey.
Fun time in the #amquerying trenches, sent out a query and had a form reject come back in 4 hours! 😅 What’s the fastest rejection you’ve had querying? ⚡️#WritingCommunity

Frankfurt is a weird time for writers; it can feel like everyone is getting 6 figure deals (they’re not!). To do something for those who aren’t yet at that stage, I’m offering a free critique of your first 10k words & synopsis (fiction only) - to enter RT by midnight Sat! 📚✍️

Would booking a live session with you preclude representation by you?

Would it be useful to offer live office hours over zoom on a weekend instead of Ask an Agent on Twitter?
