Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore all share the same level of cleanliness and civic sense.
While Japan achieves it by cultivating a sense of discipline, duty and honour for cleanliness at a young age, Singapore does so with draconian laws, regular maintenance and education.
Regardless, all of us need to set an example for the whole world to follow

还得是马来西亚华裔，把新加坡看得透透的。
马来西亚华裔说：新加坡对华裔，那是下手很狠的，非常狠。用严苛的法律和规章制度，把华裔压得死死的。但对印度人，他们就不敢这么干。因为印度人团结，又不好惹，你严管他，他们就跟你干到底。
这话听着刺耳，但仔细想想，新加坡的种族政策确实有这个问题。
华裔占新加坡人口的七成多，可受到的管制反而是最严的。从组屋配额到语言政策，从教育体制到就业导向，处处都在“平衡”。可这种平衡，说白了就是压着多数去讨好少数。印度人虽然占比不到一成，但因为团结、有组织、敢发声，政府反而对他们客客气气。最近连拍摄和讨论印度人的负面视频都不允许了，关爱有加。
有网友说得更直白：印度人在新加坡的地位，就相当于犹太人在美国的地位，说不得，骂不得。
这背后的逻辑是什么？是新加坡政府怕“失衡”。华裔太好管了，听话、守法、埋头干活，所以可以随便压。印度人不好惹，那就让着点。马来人也一样，有特殊照顾。最后的结果就是：华裔承担了最多的义务，享受了最少的特权。
有人说，新加坡是不是华人关我们屁事。可同样是华裔，看着自己的同胞在别国被这样对待，心里总不是滋味。一个国家的政策，如果不能公平对待每一个族群，那它再繁荣，也是有裂缝的。

We don't demand for more or request for better stuff. We are thankful for what is given to us.
