ALT We are saddened to hear of the passing of Congressman Doug LaMalfa. Congressman LaMalfa will be remembered for his dedicated service to Northern California and for his longstanding attention to issues affecting rural communities, including agriculture and forest management. Through his advocacy, Butte County secured critical federal funding for a number of impactful projects, including the Veterans Memorial Park in Oroville, the Cohasset Road Widening and Fire Safety Project, the Palermo Drinking Water Project, and investments in Public Safety Communications, improved fire protection, Lumpkin Road Rehabilitation, and Roadside Vegetation Management. His efforts will continue to benefit our communities for years to come. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who were touched by his service.

ALT Year-round, never leave kids in cars! Roughly a third of child hot car deaths occur outside of the summer months. Check the backseat year-round. Hot car deaths have occurred each month of the year. Lock parked cars year-round. Deaths have occurred due to a child entering a parked car. Be on guard even if it's not hot outside. Hot car deaths can occur even when the outside temperature is below 70°F.
