Art in the Hills is taking place this weekend at Dufton near Appleby. Not only is it a beautiful village with stunning views, the exhibition has some great work on show, including our very own Roseanna Bellwood who only went and won The Dufton Prize!

A great opportunity to visit Appleby artist Roseanna Bellwood’s studio at the Courtyard Gallery. Rosie will be demonstrating her printmaking techniques and explaining her work. As well as a mini exhibition in our Gallery, there’ll be plenty of unframed work to see in her studio.

The art world lost an amazing talent yesterday, printer & painter Piers Browne. Piers has been exhibiting at the Courtyard since the early ‘90’s. What a great loss. We’ll miss his friendship and support.

If you’re wondering who this is on our railings, it’s been made by Appleby’s Crafty Ladies, who’ve created a town trail of colourful arty things. Call into Appleby and take a look, it’s great fun!

Incredible to report we have sold 10,000 copies of Forty Farms. What is more remarkable than these stories within the cover, is that the book was produced by @inspiredbylakeland an independent local publisher here in Cumbria. Not a national publisher with national distribution!
