There are 186 members of the Connecticut legislature, but only 17 members (a mere 9%) co-sponsored this legislation. Proud to part of the minority, standing up for those brave men and women that protect us at home, and abroad. ctinsider.com/politics/artic…

As many of you are already aware, I recently held an essay contest in commemoration of our upcoming USA 250th Birthday festivities. Offered to 8th Graders in Wallingford, all were invited to write about their favorite founding mother or father. I was happy to learn that there were close to TWO HUNDRED submissions, and last week I was proud to select and present SELINA WAHBA from Dag Hammarskjold Middle School as the Essay Contest WINNER! Selina wrote about Thomas Paine, a founding father I (admittedly) did not think of when developing the contest, and was happy to thank Selina for reminding me of his importance. THANK YOU to all the essay writers. Have a GREAT SUMMER! cthousegop.com/fishbein/hono…

Just last month, Connecticut once again pushed to expand access to marijuana, this time by making it easier for consumers to obtain high-potency cannabis products while removing previous restrictions on THC levels. Supporters argue that legalization and regulation create a safer marketplace, but critics question whether increasing THC potency serves the public interest, especially as concerns grow about addiction, impaired driving, youth exposure, and mental health consequences. youtu.be/I_vCmEUtPq0?si=uijt…

The Wallingford Board of Education's Transportation Analysis for their "One High School" claims their fantasy site to be "centrally located." Looking at the map, do you think this "central location" is INSIDE the blackened map area, or OUTSIDE the blackened map area? And while it has been OVER SIX YEARS, they STILL have not asked the Town Council to publicly vote on their fantasy site. Instead, they continue to spend money on their fantasy, while keeping the public in the dark. There is no reason why they can’t have a public forum where they identify a particular area of town (not the actual parcel, but the area) and have the families impacted by the fantasy give their comments. That is only fair … Instead, the public is left in the dark. Purposely. While they claim that it is "in the Town Council's hands," just last week they had a meeting where their own agenda said "potential sites," and they appropriated EVEN MORE money toward their fantasy. So if it is really "in the Town Council's hands," why didn't they have come to the Town Council for permission? Meanwhile, another school year passes and the only people benefiting from this continued fantasy are those that are continued to be compensated as consultants. CERTAINLY NOT the students or their families.

Is her term of office over YET?!?
A House hearing went off the rails when Rep. Jasmine Crockett launched into a blistering attack on Republicans and Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece. The Texas Democrat took aim at the GOP as a “majority… White” party while criticizing lawmakers for spotlighting civil rights activist Alveda King during a hearing examining the Southern Poverty Law Center. At one point, Crockett suggested Republicans were trying to make the public think a “Doctor King” was condemning the SPLC, prompting a fiery response from King. King responded saying Crockett's comments made her "emotional" and later questioned whether Crockett was calling her a "bastard" of the King name — but by by the time she responded, Crockett had already stormed away from the room.
