Jan. 10, 9:00 a.m. update. 🚨On Jan. 9, our water use was 504 ML which is 19 ML above the sustainable level of 485 ML. We are still experiencing a strain on our distribution system, limiting our ability to produce treated water, refill underground reservoirs overnight and move water to everyone. We continue to ask Calgarians & businesses to take action to reduce their water consumption. 🚧 Construction update ▪️Crews have begun slowly filling the repaired pipe with water and are in the process of restoring service which is a multi-day process involving filling the pipe, testing the water and making sure the system is stable. ▪️As of this morning, the first phase of filling the pipe is approximately 75 per cent complete. ➡️ Road Closures ▪️A single eastbound lane on 16 Ave N.W. east of Sarcee Trail is open, along with access to 16th Avenue from Sarcee Trail. ▪️Work to repair the roadway has begun, paving will begin over the weekend.
