I am blocked by this person. Maybe someone can tell them that it’s impossible to even collect reliable data about male violence against women & girls, the pay gap, inequality in the workplace, reproductive health care OR ANYTHING ELSE, if the definition of women includes men.

A Labour voter all my life (71 now) but I have never felt as ashamed of @UKLabour as I do now, watching MPs queue up to explain why they’re abandoning women, proving that they’re happy for my granddaughters to have fewer rights in future than I have had. Wretched cowards all.

It is pleasing to see the BBC reporting on this and with an attempt at balance with two pro mixed sex facilities views and one sex realist response from Sex Matters, a human rights charity, who are described here as a “gender critical women’s rights group”.
The lengthy delay in putting the draft guidance before parliament points to its 300 page length. Somewhat misleading as less than a tenth of those had been changed.
The last word goes to Joanne Moseley of Irwin Mitchell solicitors, who warned that the guidance was not "a silver bullet" and that if someone made a claim of discrimination against an organisation it was not a defence to say "we're waiting for the guidance".

Hello all. A quick update from me.
My sex screen assay is progressing well.
I promised rapid: I can detect SRY from a cheek swab in about 30 minutes. I am currently testing whether I can drop it to 10 minutes without compromising reliability.
I promised cheap: The current cost per assay is about £2. I am currently testing whether I can drop this to below the pound line, and it’s very promising.
I promised accessible: The assay could be run by any grassroots sports coach, school nurse, and my Mum.
I promised on-site: This is where my lab efforts are currently focussed. I’ve always held “from the UK to Uganda” as a principle, and ensuring easy deployment is crucial. I’m currently learning a lot of materials science…
The other main push is setting up various blinded, larger-scale tests. This will require lots of form filling.

Remember, every person who says they are disgusted by the Supreme Court judgment is admitting that:
They’re disgusted that female sexual assault survivors might meet in a support group to open up about their trauma, without men being present.
They’re disgusted that lesbians can socialise exclusively with other lesbians, without men being present.
They’re disgusted by new mothers gathering together to discuss breastfeeding or post partum problems, without men being present.
They’re disgusted that girls can play sport with other girls and shower, change and dress, without boys being present.
They’re disgusted that organisations - which realise they are too male dominated - can’t fill any female quotas with other men.
They’re disgusted that vulnerable female prisoners and arrestees can’t be searched by men or kept in a cell with other men.
They’re disgusted that women can have their own things.
They’re disgusted by the Equality Act 2010.
They’re disgusted by the law.

Despite Irish parents having a fundamental constitutional role as the primary educators of their children, particularly in areas of moral & religious formation, many parents now perceive a growing disconnect between this role & the content delivered through compulsory elements of the school curriculum, especially SPHE, RSE, & Bí Cineálta.
The practical steps outlined in this guide aim to empower parents to address their concerns lawfully & constructively, while centring the child’s best interests.
The Guide covers parents’ legal rights, how to raise concerns with schools, & how to escalate beyond the Board of Management.
