🆕 Pretty excited about these… Cross Borders have aged a malty imperial Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy in three different Scotch whisky barrels - Highland, Speyside, and Islay and the three have taken on some different flavours. Very limited numbers of these have been produced.
🆕 Pretty excited about these… Cross Borders have aged a malty imperial Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy in three different Scotch whisky barrels and the three have taken on some different flavours. Volume 1.1 - a Highland whisky barrel. It’s picked up loads of peat – pipesmoke, tar and leather. Very complex character and a light lactic tartness reminiscent of an Oud Bruin. Volume 1.2 - Speyside. Raisin and plum dried-fruit flavours, sticky caramel and wintry cinnamon spice with a lingering sweet malty finish. Volume 1.3 - Islay. Rich and unctous, treacle-y with cinder char and light smoke. Very limited numbers of these have been produced. Available for delivery, Click & Collect, or over the counter.
