A lot of people have criticized my Constitutional opposition to the war with Iran. One bizarre criticism is that Congress hasnโt declared war since WW2, yet weโve been to war numerous times. In other words, the horse has left the barn.
By this reasoning, we shouldnโt contest violations of free speech, infringements of the Second Amendment, or breaches of due process. After all, the government has been stepping on these rights for quite some time.

House fails to pass interim FISA Section. The vote was 198 yeas to 218 nays. But this needed a 2/3 majority and the Houde couldn't even get a simple majority. With 416 members voting, this needed 273 yeas.

I voted no on FISA today. This policy was supposed to be an intelligence tool to keep us safe from foreign terrorists, but it has been expanded far beyond that without proper guardrails.
At a time when the Administration is using our government to go after American citizens and settle the presidentโs political scores, the risk could not be greater.
We should be undertaking real reforms that protect Americansโ rights & privacy. But this bill has none of that. The last thing we need is this unhinged president surveilling private citizens without accountability.
